Overview

The Queensland Marine Turtle Network (QMTN) is a collaborative organisation dedicated to supporting the conservation of marine turtles throughout Queensland.

Bringing together community groups, Traditional Owners, Land and Sea Ranger groups, researchers, government agencies, and environmental organisations, QMTN plays an important role in monitoring, protecting, and preserving marine turtle populations and their habitats.

As the network continued to grow, QMTN required a modern website that could effectively communicate its mission, provide access to valuable resources, and serve as a central hub for stakeholders across Queensland.

Challenge

QMTN’s audience is broad and diverse, ranging from conservation volunteers and community groups through to researchers, government representatives, and environmental professionals.

The website needed to accommodate a significant amount of information while remaining intuitive and accessible for users with varying levels of technical experience.

Another challenge was ensuring the platform could effectively organise and present a wide range of content, including educational resources, project information, news updates, and member organisation details.

The website also needed to be easy for the QMTN team to manage internally as content and initiatives continue to evolve over time.

Approach

SiteBud worked closely with QMTN to understand the organisation’s goals, stakeholders, and long-term vision for the website.

The website was designed and built on the WordPress platform, providing flexibility, ease of management, and a strong foundation for future growth. Visually, the design draws inspiration from Queensland’s coastal landscapes and marine environments.

Clean layouts, thoughtful use of imagery, and a professional visual style help reinforce QMTN’s credibility while maintaining an approachable and engaging experience for visitors.

The website was also developed with responsive design principles, ensuring optimal performance across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Result

The finished website provides QMTN with a modern, scalable, and easy-to-manage digital platform that supports its conservation efforts across Queensland.

Visitors can easily access resources, learn about marine turtle conservation initiatives, connect with partner organisations, and stay informed about current projects and activities.

By combining thoughtful design, intuitive navigation, and a robust technical foundation, the platform is well positioned to support the organisation’s ongoing growth and environmental impact for years to come.
